The coffee shop buzzed with a Saturday morning clamor, but Sarah barely registered it. She’d been up since dawn, the events of the night before replaying in her mind. Her fingers danced across the screen, composing a text to her best friend, detailing the disastrous date. Except it hadn't gone to her friend. It had gone to the date himself. She quickly shut off her phone and pressed it face down on the table, willing herself to become invisible. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat in her chest.
